A unified quasi-molecular picture of α+12C, α+16O and heavy-ion resonances

Abstract

Existing experimental data on α+12C and α+16O resonances are analysed in terms of rotating quasi-molecular frame with anharmonic vibrations. Excellent fits to the data are obtained with model parameters consistent with those used to account for 12C+12C, 12C+16O and 16O+16O resonances. Morse potentials are constructed and deformation potentials deduced for all the studied resonant systems.
