Compound-hypernucleus interpretation of HΛ4 formation probabilities in stopped-K absorption

Abstract

To explain the abundant production of HΛ4 observed in stopped-K absorption on light nuclei, a theoretical model is proposed, in which the basic ingredient is formation and fragmentation of a Λ compound nucleus. Estimated HΛ4 formation probabilities per stopped K agree with the observed values.
