Abstract

The first comprehensive study of the full set of 18 response functions relevant to the (e→,ep→) reaction is presented. Benchmark analytical features and limiting cases of the response functions are described. Numerical predictions contrasting nonrelativistic and relativistic (Dirac) dynamics and on- and off-shell final-state interaction effects are presented. Basic physical characteristics and dependences of the response functions are identified. The outlook for future experimental studies of the (e→,ep→) polarization response functions is discussed.
