Corrections of semiclassical virtual photon numbers in Coulomb scattering for energy loss of projectile

Abstract

Corrections are introduced in thesemiclassical formulas for virtual photon numbers of Coulomb scattering in order that they can also be applied to electron scattering on nuclei. Two types of corrections are considered, those correcting the loss of energy of the projectile and those paying regard to the reciprocity theorem of cross sections. The resulting photon numbers are compared with other theoretical approaches and data derived from electron scattering experiments.
