Abstract

We have observed the broad 2+ member of the Kπ=04+ band of Ne20 with the Ne20(π+,π+) reaction at Tπ=120 and 180 MeV and with Ne20(π,π) at Tπ=180 MeV. We find an excitation energy of 9.00±0.18 MeV and a width of 0.8 MeV. The B(E2↑) is determined to be approximately 25 to 35 e2fm4.
