p4He scattering: New data and a phase-shift analysis between 30 and 72 MeV

Abstract

We have measured the differential cross section dσ/dΩ and the analyzing power Ay in the elastic p4He scattering at 71.9 MeV. These data, together with all other existing data between 30 and 65 MeV, were subjected to a phase-shift analysis. New fixed energy solutions were found, which typically exhibit lower χ2 values than existing solutions and are consistent with a continuous energy dependence. An energy-dependent analysis with a quadratic energy dependence reproduced the trend of the single-energy solutions, but yielded large χ2 values.
