Abstract

We have performed a microscopic study of the 5ΛHe ground state which takes into account nuclear distortion effects and includes a D-state admixture in the nuclear wave function. We find a gain of 10% in the binding energy of the Λ-particle mainly due to nuclear distortion effects. Possible implications for the 5ΛHe overbinding problem are discussed.
