Abstract
The level structure of the doubly-odd nucleus was investigated by means of thermal-neutron-capture gamma-ray and conversion electron spectroscopy. Pair, curved-crystal, and β spectrometers were used. The data from these measurements, combined with previous direct reaction results, permit us to establish a detailed level scheme including six new well-developed bands. Our experimental results are interpreted in the framework of the Nilsson model. Precise Gallagher-Moszkowski splittings and Newby odd-even shifts extracted from the data are compared with theoretical calculations.
