Abstract

Similarities between cross sections and analyzing powers are reported for proton capture into 1d5/2 orbits populating the ground state of F17 and the 3 second-excited state in O16; for captures into 2s1/2 orbits populating the ground state of P29 and the 2+ first-excited state in Si28; and for the 1d3/2 orbits populating the (3/2+ first-excited state in P29 and the 4+ second-excited state in Si28. The results are in reasonable accordance with the predictions of a direct-semidirect picture for nuclear capture reactions.
