Abstract

The 0° differential cross sections for the B11(α,n)14N, C12(α,n)15O, and Mg24 (α,n)27Si reactions were measured at Eα=47.4 MeV. Well-known states of high spin in O15 were used to determine the excitation energy of states in N14 and Si27. Several states of high excitation energy in these nuclei are reported. The energies of these states are consistent with particle-hole weak coupling calculations for high spin states. Comparisons with previous experiments are made where possible.
