Abstract

We have measured the transverse and the longitudinal polarization transfer coefficients Kyy and Kzz at 0° in the (p,n) reactions from 6,7Li and Be9 for proton energies near 55 MeV. Except for the Li6(p,n)Be reaction, where Kyy(0°)=-0.33±0.04, all transfer coefficients are <0.20 and thus not very suitable for the production of polarized neutrons.
