New probes are being used to study old and new giant resonances. In particular, charge exchange reactions such as (n,p), ( pi +or-, gamma ), and ( pi +or-, pi 0) are providing new insight into the nature of giant resonances. A brief discussion is given of some of these developments. The problem of isospin mixing in 4He is also discussed.
