Abstract

Excitation functions for C12+12C elastic scattering have been calculated in the center-of-mass energy range Ec.m.=15 to 95 MeV at c.m. angles of 50°, 70°, and 90° using optical-model parameters determined by fitting an angular distribution at Ec.m.=60.8 MeV. Conventional Woods-Saxon parameters for four families of different real well depth and with either a volume or surface absorption predict gross structure at 90° which persists undiminished throughout this energy range.
