Abstract

The C13(p)10B reaction has been studied at an incident energy of 30.95 MeV. The strong excitation of the positive-parity states is clear evidence of a dominant pickup process in the dynamics of the (p,α) reaction. The experimental relative integrated cross sections are fairly well reproduced by the distorted wave direct pickup calculations using a triton cluster form factor and the shell model spectroscopic strengths of Kurath and Millener.
