Anisotropies in transfer-induced fission of O16+232Th

Abstract

Transfer-induced fission has been measured for O16+232Th at 105 MeV. The angular distributions have a small in-plane anisotropy, but a substantial out-of-plane anisotropy, increasing with the mass transfer. The transferred angular momentum needed to describe the distribution is in agreement with the semiclassical predictions.
