Abstract

We present a model that provides a unified description of fusion and the full momentum transfer component of dissipative collisions (orbiting), in light-heavy-ion-induced reactions. The model is applied successfully to describe measured cross sections for fusion and orbiting over a wide range of bombarding energies for the 28Si+12C system.
