Abstract

A search for a maximum in the analyzing power of the reaction 23Na(p, α0)20Ne close to the theoretical maximum was performed. Such a maximum of TT10 = 1.05±0.05 was found at Ep = 7.76 MeV and θlab = 115°. Its existence may allow the unambiguous measurement of all three polarization components of a 23Na(J = 32) beam at Elab23Na) = 177 MeV.
