Abstract

Within the Hartree-Fock method and with restriction to axially symmetric shapes we investigate excited states of light N = Z nuclei with a specific spin-isospin lattice. We use Gogny's effective interaction which we test at the same time by calculating the ground state energies of a large number of light nuclei, partly up to the drip lines. For the calculation of the excited states, we complement Gogny's interaction by a tensor interaction as produced by the one-pion exchange (OPE) and the one-rho exchange (ORE). The spin-isospin order in the excited state is determined so as to produce a non-vanishing source for a “classical pion field”.
