Abstract

Previously reported data for the reaction 181Ta(e,e' pi +)181Hf have been analysed in terms of virtual photon theory. This analysis shows that a plane-wave (PW) calculation in the long-wavelength limit is consistent with the data whereas a calculation using the second-order Born approximation (SOBA) including finite-size effects gives results that are about 20% too low.
