Abstract

Cross sections for the Ca40(p,2p) reactions at 101.3 and 76.1 MeV and the O16(p,2p) reaction at 101.3 MeV have been measured and analyzed using distorted-wave impulse approximation calculations. The sensitivity to the choice of distortion parameters, nonlocality corrections, and spin-orbit terms in the optical potentials have been studied. For the region of phase space studied, the factorization approximation is found to be valid even at energies as low as 76.1 MeV. Extracted spectroscopic factors are compatible with shell model estimates.
