Coherent damping of excitations in nuclear collisions from the energy-weighted inelastic sum rule

Abstract

We calculate the energy weighted inclusive inelastic cross section for the a-a scattering at medium energies. The damping of nuclear excitation energies at large momentum transfers, due to coherent multiple collisions, is found.
