Abstract

A direct evidence of -high single particle component has been obtained for the first time in sd-shell nuclei from measurement of α0 and p0 decay from the 12.80 MeV state in Si28 populated through the C12(20Ne,α)28Si reaction. This state is assigned Jπ=6+ and has a g9/2 single particle component of 2030 % in a nearly stretched proton configuration of (g9/2d5/21).
