Abstract

Coulomb sum rules are evaluated in those nuclei where experimental data are available. The role of the high energy tail of the excitation spectrum and of dynamical correlations, explicitly included in the calculation, is discussed. They seem to be essential for reaching an agreement between theory and experiments.
