Total neutrino-scattering cross sections and total muon-capture rates in nuclei

Abstract

A simple relation between total inclusive neutrino-scattering cross sections and total muon-capture rates in nuclei is derived. The calculation makes use of the closure and the nonrelativistic impulse approximations. The relation is used to predict neutrino cross sections in C12 for Eν=150–250 MeV.
