Abstract

We present the results of a study of the properties of both negative- and positive-parity states in odd-proton Cs and odd-neutron Xe isotopes within the framework of the proton-neutron interacting boson-fermion model (IBFA-2). We show that within IBFA-2 a unified description of long odd-A isotopic chains, including isospin effects, can be given.

      Citation Excerpt :

In the calculations of B(M1) values for the odd-mass 121–127Xe isotopes, the collective g-factors gl and gs are taken from a study of magnetic properties in the even–even Xe nuclei. The single-particle values of the g-factors are gl = 0 and gs = 3.82 nm for a neutron and gl = 1 nm and gs = 5.58 nm for a proton [48,49]. The calculated reduced probability for M1 transitions and the experimental data [29,36–39] are given in Table 14.
