Previously measured double differential cross sections of $\alpha$ particles and tritons from the breakup of 11 MeV/nucleon ${}_{}{}^7{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Li}$ by ${}_{}{}^{159}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Tb}$ were well accounted for by an opaque-nucleus model of Serber incorporating the spectral distortion in the field of the target nucleus.
