Abstract

Jastrow type correlations in the shell-model wave functions of the 16O(01+) ↔ 16N(01) transition damp crucially the heavy meson exchange contribution to the time component of the weak axial vector current in the hard pion model. Medium polarization effects combined with hadronic form factors are shown to exhibit the difference between the one-pion exchange operators arising from the hard-pion and the soft-pion models, respectively.
