SU(4) breaking ground-state correlations and quenching of Gamow-Teller and isovector M1 transitions

Abstract

It is shown that SU(4) breaking ground-state correlations in 16O or 40Ca can provide a quenching of about 10–15% for Gamow-Teller and isovector M1 transition amplitudes in neighbouring nuclei with A = 15, 17, 39 and 41.
