Abstract
Expectation values of the Tucson-Melbourne family of , , and exchange three-body forces and the Lisbon three-body force are obtained with two models of the triton. The triton wave functions used are solutions of the Faddeev equations with -wave potentials. These coordinate space studies examine the effect of short-range pair correlations on the binding energy contribution of the three-body forces. The contribution of the three-body force is attractive, the three-body force repulsive and much smaller, and the three-body force negligible in these triton models.
