Scattering of Si28 from Pb208

Abstract

Elastic and inelastic scattering of Si28 on Pb208 have been investigated at 209.8 MeV with high resolution. The angular distributions can be well described by coupled channel calculations when the ion-ion potential has a diffusivity of 0.65 fm. Deformation lengths extracted are in good agreement with those obtained from analysis of light ion reaction data.
