Comparison of (He3, π) and (He3, π+) exclusive reactions on Li7 and C12

Abstract

Differential cross sections of (He3, π±) exclusive reactions have been measured for Li7 and C12 targets at 235 MeV and 20° laboratory scattering angle. Several levels of the final nuclei have been observed for π+ as well as π production. Simple assumptions for the reaction mechanism are considered for explaining the ratio of π to π+ production.
