Abstract
The s (L=0) and d (L=2) bosons of the interacting boson model of nuclear structure are mapped, as correlated pairs of nucleons, onto a single-particle basis and the relationship between nucleon and boson nuclear transition densities is established. Application is made to the analysis of (e,e') data for the excitation of the 21+ state in 20Ne to the analysis of data for the inelastic scattering of 24.5 MeV protons exciting the 21+ and 41+ states of 20Ne, and to the analysis of data for the inelastic scattering of 24 MeV neutrons exciting the 21+ state in 116Sn.
