Abstract

Effect of the Coriolis and centrifugal forces for nuclei with a stable octupole deformation are examined in the frame of a schematic collective model. It is found that these effects are by no means attenuated with a rise of the octupole deformation. Taking them into account seems to allow for a consistent description of a strong anharmonization and differences in the moments of inertia of the positive- and negative-parity bands.
