Abstract
A method for separating direct and compound nuclear reaction contributions to inelastic scattering on spin 0 targets is proposed. It is based on the characteristic behavior of the parameters of the angular correlation function in a distorted-wave Born approximation and a Hauser-Feshbach model treatment. The method is applied to the reaction .
