Abstract
Evidence for population of + resonant states in the transfer reaction at 130 MeV incident energy was sought in carbon-carbon coincidence data. Carbon momenta were measured with position sensitive telescopes centered at + 35° and -30°. Despite the fact that the experimental configuration discriminates against the prolific projectile breakup process, few events are observed in the kinematic regions corresponding to the resonances. A Monte Carlo simulation of the sequential reaction indicates that the transfer production cross section of resonant states is less than one-fourth the value in the literature based on -particle singles data at 145 MeV incident energy.
