Abstract

A search has been made for indications of resonant behavior in forward angle (20°<θlab<40°) O16+Mg24 inelastic scattering. No evidence of resonant structure has been observed over the bombarding energy range 25 MeV<Ec.m.<39 MeV. An upper limit for the reduced partial width in the Mg24(21+) +O16 channel is deduced.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Mg24(O16, O16)Mg24* (21+, 1.37 MeV); excitation function 41<Elab<65 MeV, 20°<θlab<40°, search for resonant structures.
