Abstract

The resonating group method kernel operators of composite nuclei interactions are investigated within a geometrical framework which relates the coordinates of the Pauli exchanged nucleons with the relative distance of nuclear fragments. Nucleon exchange density matrices, which contain detailed information about the Pauli exchange mechanism, are introduced to cast the kernel expressions in compact forms. A practical approach for calculating exchange kernels is given for certain applications in nuclear scattering and α-decay.
