Abstract

Energy and angular distributions of neutrons, protons, and α's were measured in coincidence with the projectilelike fragments in deep inelastic collisions of O16 on Ca48 at 142 MeV. Using an event by event analysis which takes into account the particle emission from the projectilelike fragment and the recoil correction due to light particle emission we show that our data are consistent with the assumption that the light particles are statistically evaporated in the rest frame of the two heavy fragments.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ca48(O16,X),E=142 MeV, measured n,p, α coinc.; deduced n,p, α σ(E) and σ(θ).
