Abstract

In the excitation energy region5 ⩽ EX ⩽ 9MeVof the residual nucleus differential(γ,n) cross sections on16O have been measured for photon energies60 ⩽ Eγ ⩽ 160MeV. For high momentum transfers the ratioR for the transitions16O(γ,n)15O3/2− and16O(γ,n0)15O exceeds considerably the value of 2 expected from the occupation numbers of the corresponding subshells.
