Abstract

The effect of a parity-dependent central potential and a spin-orbit potential on the angular distributions of analyzing powers and cross sections in heavy ion scattering is investigated. The cross section data of C13 + C12, N15 + O16, and F19 + O18 scattering are analyzed and it is predicted that a characteristic oscillation appears in the angular distributions of analyzing powers, especially at back angles, for heavy ion scattering with identical cores.
