Abstract

The He2(α, αp)n reaction has been studied with 140 MeV alpha particles at pα quasifree scattering conditions in the θc.m. angular region of 50° to 144°. Energy spectra are presented for six angle pairs. Three-body model calculations provide excellent fits to the data. Reasons for the success of the relatively limited three-body model used are discussed.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS H2(α, αp)n, Eα=140 MeV; measured σ(Eα, Ep, θα, θp); three body Faddeev analysis; energy and angle dependence.
