Effective interactions and the 4p-4h states in 16O

Abstract

A Hartree-Fock calculation for the four-particle four-hole states in 16O is carried out with a number of density-dependent effective interactions. Satisfactory results for the energies and deformation are obtained for the interactions with a substantial p-state repulsion and weak density dependence. There is evidence for clustering.
