Influence of 1p- 1h-excited α particles on elastic αα scattering

Abstract

The influence of channels with 1p- 1h-excited α particles with S=T=0 on elastic αα scattering is studied in the framework of the Feshbach projection operator formalism. Calculated phase shifts and transmission coefficients for αα scattering are compared to experimental data for c.m. energies between 15 and 35 MeV. The effect of positive parity αα* rotational states is discussed.
