Abstract

The applicability of the Daehnick et al. global deuteron potential and the validity of treating the deuteron as a spin-12 particle has been investigated. A wide range of deuteron elastic scattering data has been fitted with a double folding model utilizing the M3Y interaction. An average normalization of = 0.87 ± 0.05 was found for the interaction. Some evidence was found for a possible energy and mass dependence of N.
