Abstract

Cross sections for the primary pion beam monitor reactions C12(π±, πN)C11 (20.4 min) have been measured between 30 and 100 MeV by activation techniques. These cross sections are consistently lower, but within the uncertainties of our previously determined values. The experimental uncertainties of these new measurements are considerably smaller.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(π±, πN)C11 measured cross sections by activation, Tπ=30100 MeV. Plastic scintillator targets; pion flux determined with scintillator telescope.
