Abstract

A new analytic parametrization of the nuclear form factor is developed using a factorization theorem. We show that the nuclear form factor can be represented in terms of its real zeros and its asymptotic behavior. The parametrization is applied to nuclear form factor data of He3 and He4. Our results suggest that further diffraction minima can be expected at higher momentum transfer where experiments have not yet been made.
