Abstract

Complete elastic scattering angular distributions have been measured for 6Li + 39K at 28 and 34 MeV to determine whether the large-angle enhancements reported earlier for 6Li + 40Ca are observed also for 39K. At 34 MeV the angular distribution data for 39K are almost identical to those previously reported for 40Ca over the entire angular range. Rather poor descriptions of the data are obtained with the standard Woods-Saxon optical potential, especially in the interference region between 90° and 120°. A better reproduction of the data was obtained with a double folded microscopic real potential and an imaginary Woods-Saxon potential. A real force normalization of about 0.6 was found for 39K just as for 6Li scattering by 40Ca.
