Abstract

Production cross sections of neutron-rich projectile fragments have been measured for the reaction 213 MeV/nucleon Ca48+Be. The neutron-rich nuclides C20 and F27 have been observed for the first time. A method to strengthen our evidence for the possible particle stability of C21, N23, and O25 is presented.

RADIOACTIVITY First observation of C20 and F27 produced in fragmentation of 213 MeV/nucleon Ca48.
