Abstract

Angular distributions for near threshold electroproduction of positive pions from C12 are reported and compared to theory. These data provide tests of recently developed second-order optical potentials and of the nuclear response to electroproduction in the giant resonance region.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C12(e,π+e); measured σ(Eπ,θ), Ee=200 MeV, Eπ=613 MeV; calculated σ distorted wave Born approximation; giant resonances.
