Quasielastic scattering of electrons by 4he with the detection of ep coincidences

Abstract

Methods and results of the 4He(e, e'p)3H reaction cross-section measurements with the detection of ep coincidences are presented for different energy values of the outgoing proton in a wide range of recoil momenta. The theory of the reaction cross-section calculation taking into account the residual interaction and many-particle short-range correlations is offered. The effect of non-orthogonality of initial and final nuclear states on the reaction cross section is also discussed. A comparative analysis is made for the momentum distributions of protons in 4He which have been obtained from the reactions (p, 2p), (e, e'p) and (γ, p). It is shown that Koltun's sum rules do not hold in the 4He(e, e'p)3H reaction.
